THE PROBLEM

Most NZ homes are losing heat through uninsulated walls

Most homes built before the 1990s have ceiling and underfloor insulation — but the walls were left completely empty. Heat naturally moves from warm spaces to cold ones, and without insulation in the walls, the warmth you pay to create simply escapes outside.

Research shows that up to 25% of your home's heat can be lost through uninsulated walls — making your home harder and more expensive to keep warm, and contributing to damp, cold surfaces that can lead to mould and condensation.

Up to 25% of heat loss in an uninsulated home comes through the walls — more than through the floor.

Installation Methods

CosyWall Thermal is our industry-leading blown wall insulation product for New Zealand homes. It can be installed using three different methods depending on your home and project type — choose the application that best suits your situation.

Installing insulation into an external wall from outside

External
Walls

Installed through external cladding

Ideal for most existing homes. Small holes are drilled through the weatherboard, brick or other cladding from outside. Insulation is blown in and all holes are sealed and repainted — minimal disruption, no interior work required.

Installing insulation into an internal wall

Internal
Walls

Installed through existing plasterboard

Where exterior access isn't practical, CosyWall can be installed from inside. Small holes are drilled through the internal plasterboard, insulation is blown in, and the holes are patched and finished ready for painting — a tidy, effective interior solution.

Installing wall insulation with the linings off

Linings Off
Installation

For renovation and new build projects

The perfect solution when you're already renovating or rebuilding. With internal linings removed, a mesh and BIB barrier system is installed before CosyWall is blown in — delivering maximum thermal performance to NZS 4246:2016 standards.

CosyWall can be used to insulate most walls

CosyWall Insulation can be used to insulate most types of exterior and interior walls, including brick, weatherboard, fibre cement, stucco and plasterboard.
