Enter the length and height of each wall in metres. Add as many walls as you need and we will total them to calculate the estimated cost for acoustic wall insulation.

This estimate is based on installing CosyWall acoustic insulation at an installed R-Value of R2.2 into a 90mm timber frame wall cavity.

What acoustic wall insulation costs

The walls worth doing are the ones between a living area and a bedroom, between two bedrooms, and around bathrooms.

It is priced on the area of the walls you choose, so you can do the rooms that need it and leave the rest. A minimum charge applies to small jobs. Wall sizes, construction and access all change the real job, so your installer confirms the final price after a site visit. Use the calculator above for an immediate estimate on your own walls.

What moves the price up or down.

The calculator gives you an indicative figure for the walls you enter. These are the things that shift it when your local installer prices the job properly.

Wall size, not house size

The estimate adds up the length and height of each wall you enter, so the size of the house does not come into it.

How many walls

Most homeowners start with one or two walls, the bedroom or the office, and add more later.

Wall construction

Cavity depth and framing affect how much product a wall takes.

Access

Furniture, fitted wardrobes and tight spaces add time to the installer’s quote.

Your linings stay on.

An internal wall is done from one side, through small holes in the plasterboard. It is a service call, not a renovation, and the room is usable again the same day.

1Prepare the wall

We drill small holes into the plasterboard, taking care that they can be easily repaired afterwards.

2Fill the cavity

CosyWall Acoustic is blown in with specialised equipment, filling the gaps and voids that let sound move through the wall.

3Repair the wall

We fill and sand every hole, so the wall is ready for a fresh coat of paint.

“Once we’ve completed the process you’ll never know we were there.”

Acoustic wall insulation cost questions.

The questions people ask before they book, answered plainly.

How much does acoustic wall insulation cost?

The calculator on this page gives an estimate including GST for the walls you choose. The walls worth doing are the ones between a living area and a bedroom, between two bedrooms, and around bathrooms. It is priced on wall area, so you can do the rooms that need it, and a minimum charge applies to small jobs. Wall sizes, construction and access all change the real job, so your installer confirms the final price after a site visit. Use the calculator on this page for an immediate estimate on your own walls.

Do you have to remove the linings to insulate an internal wall?

No. CosyWall Acoustic is blown into the existing wall cavity through small holes drilled in the plasterboard. Every hole is filled and sanded afterwards, ready for a fresh coat of paint.

Which walls are worth doing?

The ones with a room on each side that you want separated. Bedrooms next to a living area, a home office, a media room, a bathroom or laundry, and walls onto a hallway are the usual ones.

What difference does it actually make?

Filling the cavity slows sound moving between the rooms on either side of that wall. It reduces transfer rather than removing it, and the result depends on the wall construction, the doors and any gaps around them.

Can it go in at the same time as thermal insulation?

Yes. Thermal work goes in the external walls and acoustic in the internal ones, and the same installer can do both on the same visit.

How do I get a written quote?

Enter the wall dimensions, and once you have the estimate you can add your details on the same page. The Safe-R network installer for your region will contact you to arrange a quote.
